Shepherds Rescue 5 and Mooresville Engine 4 responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Perth Road shortly before midnight on Sunday February 12th, 2017. Chief 500 arrived on scene to find extensive property damage including a broken utility pole with energized power lines down in contact with the vehicle and in the roadway. The driver was taken by Iredell EMS to a Level 1 trauma center. Shepherds Fire – Rescue assisted NC Highway Patrol and Duke Energy with traffic control for the following 12 hours while repairs were completed.
