August 1, 2014

Shepherds Marine 5 (With Captains Craver & Taylor aboard) assisted with Operation Restored Warriors. Retired Navy Seals, Shannon Rusch, Rich Graham, and Troy Pusateri participated in the event. Launching from the Blue Parrot in Sherrills Ford the SEAL's had invited local swimmers to join them in swimming to Queens Landing off of highway 150 in Mooresville (approximately 1.2 miles). After the first leg of the swim the SEAL's continued swimming 12.2 miles ending up at The Rusty Rudder in Cornelius, NC. The event went off without a hitch with the exception of some early morning rain as the seals arrived at their destination some 7 hours later as they were greeted by a large crowd and FD personnel from Huntersville, Cornelius & Denver Fire departments.
