Shepherds First Responders Attend A Very Special Suprise Birthday Party

On April 28th Shepherds along with Mooresville Engine 2 were dispatched to a respiratory distress call on the west side of town. After the initial dispatch the call was then upgraded to a CPR in progress. Both Engine 2 and Utility 2 arrived on location simultaneously, confirmed CPR and began revival efforts. Med-Center Air was called into the scene as personnel from both Fire & EMS continued pt care. A week later the pt was released from the hospital and is living a normal life. Without him knowing the pt's son contacted Iredell County and setup a surprise birthday party which would include not only family members and friends but also the first responders which were on that very call. It's not everyday emergency personnel get to see their patients way after the call is said and done so this was a very proud moment for members from both organizations. This is what it's all about in this line of work. Helping and caring for the people we serve for.
