The 2014 Open House was held at Shepherds station 1. The people who had stopped by were welcomed and greeted with many smiles and goodies ( Such as fire hats, coloring books, pencils and stickers for the kids along with food & beverages) as they came to see where their tax dollars went to. Our current apparatus were on display in the front for both kids and adults to see and climb into, followed by a station tour. Once completed visitors were led to the back of the station where several displays were on site ranging from NC Forestry, Mooresville Police Dept, Iredell County Fire Marshal, Iredell County EMS & Iredell County Firemen's Association smoke house. Along with a bounce house and the extrication demonstration. Shepherds along with Mooresville Engine 4 received very good feedback from the community about how well the station & apparatus was kept and how they appreciate the service we provide along with what we do for the community. We were able to raise a good amount of money to donate to the Iredell County Children's Burn Center. The event went off without a hitch and Shepherds plans to do a 2015 open house next year. Shepherds would like to thank all the agencies involved along with the ladies auxilary who came out, along with all the volunteers who got the station prepared for the community.
