By Asst. Chief Danny Beauvais
February 6, 2014

@ 17:02 Shepherds along with Troutman were alerted to a reported MVA with injuries vehicle rollover with a possible pin-in on I-77NB @ the 38mm. After dispatch Chief 500 (Robinson) advised ECOM to add Mooresville Engine 2 on the call since same was northbound. Mooresville Engine 2 (traveling northbound) & Troutman Engine 1 (traveling south) arrived on location simultaneously and found the MVA to be in the median but on the northbound side. Units had one passenger sedan on it's top resting on the guardrail with several people around same. Shepherds had a FF already on location and advised that the driver was already out and they did not have a pin-in nor entrapment of any sort. Engine 2 OIC (T.Sines) established 77 command. Moments later Shepherds Rescue 5 & Engine 2 arrived and assisted with PT packaging and investigation while Troutman Engine 1 went available. Bystanders who witnessed the accident advised emergency personnel that the vehicle rode the guardrail for a little bit then rolled approx. 5 times before coming to a stop. Once the PT was loaded for transport and NCSHP arrived on-scene all units were assignment complete and back in normal service within the hour.
