@ 21:15 Shepherds Fire along with Engine 4 were alerted to a reported MVA with injuries with one possibly on fire in front of Shepherds FD. Moments later Chief 515 (Beauvais) arrived on location and confirmed a 2 car MVC with one vehicle smoking, command established and would be checking on PI. After assessing the scene with the assistance from Engine 4's OIC (Starr) personnel on location had a total of 5 patients (4 adults & 1 child) with 2 of them being critical and requiring CMC's Med-Center Air to the scene. Shepherds Rescue 5 arrived on location blocked the northbound travel lanes and began taking on pt care along with crew from Engine 4. A bystander had taken care of the fire with a dry chem extinguisher before the arrival of fire personnel. Capt 550 (Craver) handled the LZ operations which was conducted at the field right next to Shepherds quarters. 2 ALS units along with 1 supervisor (K.Smyre) were required to handle the injured. Upon arrival of 2 Med-Center helicopters care was transferred over as both pt's were packaged and loaded for transport to Charlotte. Personnel assisted LEO with traffic and lighting for investigation. All units were back in normal service within the hour as command was terminated. Shepherds would like to thank Engine 4 and all other Shepherds personnel who responded for working very diligently in a very chaotic scene.
