@ 16:13 Shepherds Fire along with Mooresville Engine 4 were alerted to a reported MVA with injuries with the vehicle possibly on fire around the 200 block of Winthrow Creek Rd. Moments later Engine 4, Shepherds Engine 1 & Rescue 5 were out on the road responding. Minutes later Shepherds 553 (S.Webster) arrived on location and advised of a 1 car MVA into the woods and confirmed a working fire and that he would be out checking for injuries. 553 came back moments later on the air advising that the pt was out of the vehicle and that he would begin initiating pt care. Engine 4 arrived shortly after and went to work stretching their front bumper line for extinguishment. Engine 1 & Rescue 5 arrived seconds later with Engine 1 parking behind Engine 4 for a secondary water supply if needed and Rescue 5 going around both rigs and completely blocking the oncoming direction of travel. While Engine 4 was completing fire suppression the remaining Shepherds crew assisted with pt care. Upon arrival of EMS Med-Center Air was contacted to start toward a nearby LZ but was later cancelled. Witnesses stated the vehicle went off road and a nearby bicyclist and bystander went over to the vehicle and pulled the driver out before the arrival of rescue crews. Once the pt was transferred over to EMS and packaged for transport personnel began mopping up before going available within the hour.
