With the temperatures in the mid 20's and decending, ECOM sounded the good ol turkey gobble pre-alert, alerting South Iredell, Mount Mourne & Shepherds for a reported garage fire with multiple calls on same. A South Iredell volunteer radioed in that he had heavy smoke in that area while enroute thus sounding a working fire. Shepherds Tanker 1 responded on the run with 4 volunteers in the car for additional manpower. South Iredell 1200 (Chief) and there Engine 1 checked on the scene with smoke and fire conditons showing and went to work. Shepherds Tanker 1 arrived and assisted with supplying water to the engine for suppression efforts. Shepherds C51 arived and assisted with manpower. Once same was controlled and extinguished Command held only South Iredell units. Shepherds was back in service within an hour and a half.
