Beginning from 9/28 to the current date Shepherds has responded to over 38 calls for service ranging from first due fire alarm activations, local medicals, traffic accidents & reported building fires. Shepherds has also been busy assisting the community by visiting various schools, daycares & churches for fire prevention month. In the next coming days members will partake in a physical endurance course to test out which new SCBA (Self-contained breathing apparatus) the department will purchase after a receiving a federal grant along with the purchase of a brand new cascade system. Also Shepherds members will be participating in a live burn exercise with Sherrills Ford-Terrell Fire Rescue as well as a tour of the Marshall Steam Station facility.
