Engine 3 Runs Small Fire Assisting Lake Norman

@ 05:45 Shepherds was alerted to assist Lake Norman on a possible house fire around the 100 block of Pine Mist Dr. ECOM advised the caller stated the house was full of smoke as the residents began evacuating. Minutes later Lake Norman Engine 1 arrived on location with nothing showing from a 2 story residential structure as Chief 1103 (J.Miller) established Pine Mist command. Shepherds Engine 3 arrived on location a short time later and stood fast behind several other apparatus on location. Personnel on scene found a small fire in the crawl space of the structure and extinguished same via water cans. In good tactics a supply line was laid down from the scene to the nearest hydrant but was not charged and upon arrival of Lake Norman's Ladder 1 room was made just in case aerial operations were needed. A control time was issued within 45 minutes. All units were assignment complete within an hour and fifteen minutes.
